Men's 1s win best hospitality award
We are delighted to announce that the Men’s 1s have been awarded the Steve Woodward Memorial Award given to the most hospitable team in the South League for the season just past.
This award is given annually as a thank you from the umpires to the club that has looked after them during the season. Steve Woodward was a former SCHUA umpire who believed very much in fair play and good hospitality after a game. He died reasonably young and quite suddenly, whilst in the States. His widow Sue wanted to present a trophy to SCHUA which would somehow reflect his attitude to fair play and the hospitality aspect of the game.
Sue Woodward and Richard Wood (President of SCHUA) will be coming to BRN to present the award to the Men’s 1s at one of the first home games – we look forward to welcoming them to BRN!
