Hawks Ladies' C team finishes with a win

Hawks C team began strongly but conceded a short corner early on.  Witney converted it into a goal with a shot just inside the right post. However Hawks fought back and a good cross into the circle found Jo Tolson who slotted it into the back of the net. They retaliated but Linda Billington, having a great game in goal, managed to repulse every attack.

In the second half we pressed strongly.  Hawks won a series of short corners but could not convert them into goal.  Then Rachel Bellamy and Jo Tolson took the ball up the pitch passing neatly between themselves to beat every defender.  It culminated in another goal for Hawks.  Sothe score was 2-1 and that was the result when the final whistle was blown.

That is the last of Hawk’s round robin matches.  When the other teams have competed theirs we will know if Hawks have made it into the semi-finals in July.
