Ladies' training begins with pre-season on 18th August
I am very excited about the up coming hockey season and wanted to share more info around pre-season and club training going forward. The plan is as follows,
Wednesday 18th August: Pre-season Session 1
Wednesday 25th August: Pre-season Session 2
Wednesday 1st September: Pre-season Session 3. Though we appreciate that the Membership Arrangements Consultation is is occurring this evening so please don’t worry if you can’t train on this occasion.
Wednesday 8th September: Club training starts and will continue up until Christmas where we will then have a few weeks off and start up again in January.
We are very lucky to have the amazing Tam Pascoe continue as Club Coach with brilliant assistance from Linda Billington. We will also have some special guests joining the coaching team at points as well.
We have made a slight change to training this season and it will now look as follows from Wednesday 18th August going forward,
7-8.30pm: Ladies 7s and 8s (plus Back to Hockey from Wednesday 13th October).
8-9.30pm: Ladies 4s, 5s and 6s.
I promise I haven’t forgotten about the Ladies 3s! The 3s will join the 1s and 2s on Tuesday 17th August from 7-9pm and will continue to train on Tuesdays going forward.
As per what we were doing last season, please sign up to each training session using the Club Events section on the website so we can continue to monitor everything from a Covid point of view.
Finally we are having Oxford Hawks Club Day on Saturday 4th September. Sadly it can’t be as big a day as we initially planned because of Covid but there is still a lot of hockey to be played/watched! Caroline Baggs has done a great job of organising the following,
10.30am - Ladies 3s v Ladies 4s (Near Pitch)
12noon - Ladies 5s v Ladies 6s (Near Pitch)
1.30pm - Ladies 7s v Ladies 8s (Near Pitch)
Our lovely captains will be in touch nearer the time so you all know which game you should be involved in.
The Men’s teams also have various friendlies taking place throughout the morning. The Men’s 2s are playing Northampton Saints 1s on the top pitch at 1.30pm which will defo be worth a watch too.
The kiosk will be open and BBQ food will also be available throughout the day. So a perfect opportunity to catch up with everyone and watch some lovely hockey.
Really looking forward to seeing you all and getting the chance to play lots of hockey this season, hopefully! If you have any questions, please give me a wee shout.
