All grown up after over 30 Hawks seasons!
These Hawks U18 girls are graduating from our junior teams at the end of this season. Amazingly, Poppy Webb, Chloe Scragg and Siena Robins (pictured after a wonderful final flourish at Teddington at the weekend) have, between them, clocked up over 30 years of commitment to our Club juniors! They're joined in the Class of 2019 by Kirsty McCulloch and Iona Hicks. We're exceptionally proud of all of them and wish them every success in their adult hockey futures at Hawks and further afield.
All our U18 Girls are to be congratulated on a very successful season in two competitions. They reached the dizzy heights of the England Hockey U18 Tier 1 Championships Quarter Finals, with notable victories against Marlow and Clifton Robinsons. And, in the highly competitive Home Counties Premier League, a superb 4-1 win over Teddington in their final match has eased Hawks into second place - behind Southgate, but above Reading on goal difference. It was a joy to see the girls playing at pace with strength, vision, passion - and evident enjoyment from the smiles on their faces!
Huge thanks are due to all the players who’ve represented the team this year; to Sam and Sue Clark for coaching them; to Paul Scragg and Rob McCulloch for umpiring - and to the ubiquitous following of parents and families for their support over the season.
