Kidlington Primary Schools Festival
On Thursday 7 March, around 100 children from years 5 and 6 took part in the annual Junior Festival at Gosford in Kidlington - twice as many as previous years, due to the introduction of a "development" competition running alongside the qualifying tournament for the next regional round.
Despite the usual "challenging" weather that always seems to plague this event, there were a huge number of smiles on the children's faces throughout the two hours. This year, for the first time, the event had goalkeepers - with 4 kits being provided by Oxford Hawks, thanks to Linda Billington. Hawks also brought along all the umpires for the event - Linda, Henri, and Harry and Dan (the two Men's 1s Aussies), and Katie Sunderland was fantastic, giving advice to the Young Leaders who were supporting each team, and also with the provision of freshly baked jam tarts! Congratulations to Dr Souths School from Islip who won the event and will proceed to the next round!
