Ladies 2s Wallingford Win Part 2

18 January 2014

Ladies' 2s 6 - 0 Wallingford Ladies 1s

The Ladies 2s started off well on a miserable day in Wallingford. The 2s took everything from training on board, concentrating on 5 passes and maintaining possession. This resulted in a number of chances early on in the game but the Wallingford goalkeeper made some good saves to keep the score at 0-0. However Claire Werlinger changed this 5 minutes later when she converted a chance in front of goal to make it 1-0.  The Ladies 2s were then awarded a penalty flick which Briony Anyon stepped up to take. Briony calmly slotted the ball past the keeper to make the score 2-0. Maisie Robertson converted another chance before half time, 3-0 Hawks!

The half time team talked focused on bring the ball out of contact and into the centre half so the ball could be distributed around the pitch. The Ladies 2s went out and played the same passing game that had brought them so much success in the 1st half.  Kasey Butler, Storm Sunderland and Jo Tolson getting involved in the goal scoring, leaving the final score at 6-0 to Hawks.

Man of the match went to Georgia Perkins who had a great game at Centre half, using her skilful ways to get past multiple players while distributing the ball beautifully. Overall, this was a really good performance and a great result for the ladies 2s!
