Hawks should have really added three points to the seasons tally but never really got out of second gear. They struggled to get into stride, Phil Hargraves in goal making a number of saves before Wayfarers opened their account with a well taken goal from a break away. The fast flowing hockey they had been playing last week had deserted them, going into half time 1:0 down.
The second half started somewhat brighter for Hawks with passes going to stick. Their ascendency was rewarded with a short corner duly converted by Charlie Ellison. Hawks at last looked the better side, with 10 minutes to go they went ahead through another short corner scored by Jack Biggs. The three points looked in the bag, until the last minute of the game when somehow the ball rolled into the Hawks D to hit a foot. Wayfarers scored from a messy short corner. Hawks can only reflect on two points lost, rather than the one point gained. Thanks to Clive Jones for the photos.
