Falcons warm up act for Ladies 1s and hit Six against Winchester

The Falcons welcomed lowly Winchester at BRN and won by 6 goals to nil without being very hard pressed. The Falcons lined up with Bear Smith starting at Centre Forward with the skipper on the bench. Ian Sobey soon gave the hosts the lead with a shot that somehow alluded the Winchester keeper. Phil Dunnill soon increased this lead when he delayed his shot and then lifted the ball past the keeper. The Bear added a third after great work, from man of the match. Phil Dunnill whose run left the Bear with easy job of turning the ball into the empty net.

Russ Warner, very influential in the Falcons midfield, increased the score with a soft goal which again crept in despite the Bear trying to claim a sublte touch. The score was 4 nil at half time.

The second half involved quite a few positional changes and the Falcons continued to spurn chances to increase the lead. Phil Dunnil with a crisp shot into the bottom corner and skipper Dave Hughes added a sixth after Bear Smith passed unselfishly when clear in the D.
