Hawks ladies 3's started the game against Reading 2As with the determination to win and better their last week's performance.

With Hawks having first push back they ran strong at the Reading defensive line. Hawks got awarded a  short corner within the first 5 minutes due to their small triangles and possessive play.  The ball was played nicely to Vicky who had a cracking shot which was rebounded off the keeper where Emily cleverly slipped it past the keepers pads.

Hawks continued with their dominating play and were awarded another short corner where Vicky nicely hit the ball straight into the back of the goal. Hawks were up 2-0!

Reading caught Hawks on the back foot, cleverly playing the ball around the Hawks defence and then crossing it into the D, which resulted in a Reading goal. The scoreline stood at 2-1 at half time.

After a motivational team talk Hawks were ready to take advantage of their lead!

There was some awesome passing and some composed distributing from the hawks defensive line between Lottie, Katie, Vicky, Caroline, Rachel and Sarah. The 3rd goal came from a defensive 16 from Katie who passed the ball to Vicky who spotted Rachel running along the side line, who picked up the ball nicely and drove hard to space, where Rosie made a great post up to receive the ball then she connected with Bonnie who hit the ball to Zoe on the P spot were she cleverly slotted it away.

Hawks narrowly missed out on another short corner goal when Laura's great strike went a little too high and went away cleanly just above the backboard.

Another goal came for Hawks when Bonnie made another successful cross to Zoe who hit the ball at the far post, where Becca timed her run perfectly to deflect the ball into the back of the net.

Reading tried to get Hawks on the break again which resulted in a two V one on Evelyn who made a dramatic dive and cleared the ball perfectly away to the side line.

Finally a last goal came from Hawks by a good team effort when the ball was worked quickly and sharply up the pitch especially around the inner line and half backs which resulted in Bonnie crossing to Zoe who was on P spot who slipped the ball past the keepers pads to make the score 5-1!

There was a three way tie for man of the match between Lottie for her defensive work, Vicky for her composure and strength through the middle of the pitch and Rosie for her hard work on and off the ball. The second half performance was strong, composed, and ultimately a team performance that left Reading standing.

The final score was 5-1 to Hawks it was a brilliant team effort by all and Hawks 3's look on top form for next week.
