Ladies' 4s 7 - 0 Milton Keynes Ladies 3s

26 October 2013
Ladies' 4s 7-0 Milton Keynes
After a nice pep talk and some positioning reminders from Catherine we were totally prepared for the home match against Milton Keynes. The first half was tough, Milton Keynes blocked the dee totally and it was difficult for us to score. We seemed to adjust to their slower pace of playing. Milton Keynes was dangerous sometimes, but our steady defence players kept a clean sheet. Thanks to some great play during short corners we entered half time with a 2-0 lead.

During the second half we really made the difference. With a large squad of 14 players everyone was able to give all during play time on the pitch. Thanks to Nicky who added to our strength for the first 50 minutes before having to dash off to the JR and attend to a medical emergency! The ball went around nicely and the pace went up. Our third goal was scored just a few minutes after half time. Great teamwork led to more goals and resulted in very frustrated and tired Milton Keynes players.  Lizzie reached her goal of not being hit by a ball this match, but unfortunately got shuffled down during the last minutes of the game. You can't have it all unfortunately!

Sandra greatly increased her scoring tally by being the last Hawks player to touch 4 of the goals!  The majority of the goals were true team goals with great passing in and out of the D.  One short corner resulted in 7 different people touching the ball before it was tapped into the goal.  Great 'grubbing' team!

Another great win this weekend, lets keep up the good work!
