The Ladies 2s started the game well and were immediately putting pressure on the Hampstead and Westminster defence, with some good work from the forwards. However Hawks didn't always make connections in the final third which kept the score at 0-0. Hampstead and Westminster took early free hits and were able to get into Hawks D on several occasions, however Linda Billington was always on hand to make some great saves.

Rosie Atkinson and Maisie Robertson combined well on the right hand side of the pitch and Maisie's skills in the D achieved a penalty corner. Hampstead and Westminster's goalkeeper made a good save from the initial strike, which meant that Hawks had to keep on working hard to break the 0-0 scoreline.

Rosie Atkinson drove from the halfway into the oppostion D, using her skillful ways to get round a number of defenders, and was awarded a penalty flick. Rosie stepped up to take the flick and calmly slotted the ball into the bottom left hand corner, making the score 1-0.Hawks were awarded a second penalty flick just before half time and Man of the Match, Rosie stepped up to take it however the goalkeeper made a good save, keeping the score at 1-0.

Hampstead and Westminster started the 2nd half very strongly and were immediately in the Hawks D. However the defence were very composed and worked the ball out of the danger area. Hampstead and Westminster continued to put a lot of pressure on Hawks and were awarded a number of long corners, but all the Ladies 2s worked together to ensure that their 1-0 lead was maintained.

The 2nd goal was a great team goal that came about from pre-scanning and fast passing. The ball started with the defence and went into Centre Half, Katie Merrick who then passed the ball to the baseline where Kasey Butler was waiting. Kasey then played the ball into Lucy Millington, who calmly played the ball past the keeper to make the score 2-0. The remaining 10 minutes of the match was very competitive and Hawks kept putting pressure on the Hampstead and Westminster defence until the final whistle.

3 points for the Ladies 2s and some great work from all 16 players!
