The ladies 2’s were looking to maintain their good start to the season by winning their third game on the trot. Hawks started the game well and within the first minute had scored: a ball across the top of the D was picked up by Lucy Millington to score on the reverse. For the next 10 minutes both teams were giving the ball away until a burst down the right by Georgia Perkins, saw her pass the ball to Claire Werlinger. She then drove into the D and passed the ball to Anna Clark, who with extreme composure slotted the ball past the goalkeeper at the near post, making the score 2- 0.

The rest of the half saw much of the same, a lot of giving away possession and nobody really taking control. A loss of possession at the top of the Wallingford D resulted in a quick break and them scoring to make the score 2-1 at half time.

With a half time talk from Andy Warne, Nathan Monk and Lisa Scragg saw Hawks lift their heads and play much better, keeping possession (5 passes), making connections and good leads from the inside forwards. An unfortunate yellow card saw Hawks temporarily down to 10 players but they made the most of it and managed to win a short corner. With all the strikers off Rosie Atkinson stepped up to the challenge and played the ball to the right post for Claire Werlinger to successfully deflect the ball in.

Both teams had chances in the remaining minutes but neither could convert and the final score was 3-1 Hawks.
