Well, I broadly agree with 'Le Grand Chien's' earlier match report on the OHHC 3s v 4s clash last Saturday, but a couple of points of clarification ought to be made. Mr Tim 'I Love Hackney' Martin, having incurred the ire of the giant umpire with an earlier hooked stick offence, was incredibly fortunate to stay on the pitch during the 4s period of dominance at the start of the match, taking down an aerial like a marching band's baton twirler, then claiming he thought the rules had changed. (In truth, as a collective we were all perplexed about whether this is an offence or not and whether the new rules apply for the likes of us) The difference between the two teams was the class and experience of the likes of Pablo, Boots and Tim, but the 4s competed admirably and although going down 0-2 down, Charlie's vastly contrasting stroke from last week, got us back in the game. Unlike 'Velky Pes's' report, this was not a consolation goal and the 4s again pressed and were it not for Fergus's admirable goal-tending, a draw was not out of the question. Only a defensive lapse late on and clinical finish from their rugby player Besty secured the result for the 3s, which only slightly flattered them. Lots of promise from both teams, however, and all to play for. Well umpired by both officiators.
