Oxford Hawks put on a tremendous display of hockey in front of their home crowd, playing fantastic controlled hockey for the full 70 minutes. They started strong from the first whistle, but solid defending from the visitors kept the score goalless. The home side finally opened the scoring when captain Bex Oakes dispossessed the full back and buried the ball into the corner of the goal. The second goal came on the verge of half time as Kathryn Poulter scrambled the goal over the line.
In the second half Hawks continued as they left off, and soon extended their lead as Rosie Atkinson scored her first National League goal as she put away the rebound from Becky Odlin's strike. Lucy Stewart added two more goals as the away side started to tire, her second being the goal of the game with a diving deflection from Kara Haines' cross. Poulter completed the rout with a piece of individual brilliance, beating her player and calming rounding the keeper and finishing into an empty net. Trojans got one back but it didn't take the gloss off a fantastic performance from the home side.
