The Ladies 2s had their last pre-season friendly on Saturday and were expecting a tough game against Wallingford.

Hawks had a very slow start to the game and struggled to make the final pass in Wallingford's D. Wallingford were very well organised and took advantage of this fact, scoring early on in the first half. Goalkeeper Linda Billington then made some great saves to ensure the score stayed at 1-0. Hawks continued to work really hard in all areas of the pitch until the half time whistle.

Hawks were an entirely different team in the second half, playing with good intensity and a lot more energy. Lucy Millington made it 1-1 with a great strike at an attacking corner. This gave Hawks more confidence and they began to create more chances.Helen Nicholson then played a ball into the D which was deflected by a Wallingford defender giving Hawks a 2-1 lead.

Man of the match Helen Nicholson picked up the ball outside of the 25 and drove into the D, scoring from a great reverse stick shot. Not satisfied with this goal, Helen did the same thing again. Driving into the D and scoring a reverse stick goal in the top right hand corner.

Wallingford scored a 2nd goal but the game finished at 4-2. Great work Ladies 2s!
