The Falcons started brightly and were rather fortunate to be 2 goals in the lead in the first 5 minutes. Two rather scrappy goals through Giles Roper and Russ Warner had the Falcons briefly thinking of winning the league. An error by stand in skipper Dave Blomley allowed the Sevenoaks forward to reduce the deficit and Sevenoaks scored twice more to lead at the break. The Falcons had ample chances to equalise through Phil Dunnill and Russ Warner but both missed chances and John Black failed to connect as the ball was fed to him.
Rather than dominate from the off it was more Sevenoaks in the ascendancy and they soon added to their lead and but for fine goalkeeping from Richard Wilsdon the game could have been out of reach. The Falcons pressed at the end but despite Ian Sobey's fine runs could not pull a goal back. Sevenoaks deservedly took the points and most likely the league but it felt like a chance missed for the Falcons losing their last 2 leagues games.
