Ladies' 1s beaten at Bromley and Beckenham

Ladies' 1s 0 - 2 Bromley and Beckenham Ladies 1s

Oxford Hawks had a bad day at the office as they went down 2 - 0 to already relegated Bromley and Beckenham. Bromley played some good hockey, far better than their league position shows, and put Hawks under pressure from the beginning. Hawks struggled to find their form and conceded after ten minutes from a perfectly executed short corner routine. As the half went on Hawks started to settle, but Bromley put 11 players behind the ball and defended well.

In the second half, Hawks dominated throughout, but could not create clear openings in front of goal. As they pressed hard, Bromley broke quickly and scored a scrappy goal against the run of play, making the job in hand far harder for the away side. As the time ticked down, Hawks continued to press but could not break down the Bromley defence.
