Oxford Hawks travelled to top of table Sevenoaks and carved out a storming 4 - 2 win with a fabulous team performance. They shocked the home crowd by going into an early lead, with a fine goal from Becky Odlin who turned at the top of the area and smashed the ball past the opposition goalkeeper. The home side responded well, and put Hawks under a lot of pressure which eventually resulted in a goal from a penalty corner. Moments later the home side scored again, running through the middle and slotting the ball past goalkeeper Jess Hudson after the initial shot was well saved. However Hawks kept their heads and won a corner of their own which was clinically dispatched by Kirsty Chapman for her second goal in two weeks.
In the second half, Sevenoaks created numerous chances but were denied by some outstanding saves from player of the match Hudson. Hawks took the lead after ten minutes with a beautiful team goal, starting with the defence, working the ball confidently up the pitch, ending with Lucy Stewart crossing for Emily Court to tap the ball into an empty net. Sevenoaks continued to create chances but Hudson and Chapman kept calm and collected at the back, and the whole defence held strong despite facing a barrage of penalty corners. Ten minutes from the end, Charlotte Burrows linked well with Abi Flory down the right. Flory found Emily Court leading out of the area, who turned well and crossed for Stewart to score. Hawks held on for the last ten minutes to take all three points, with every player playing a vital part in an excellent team performance.
