One final win for the 7s!

Our final match saw us take a trip to Aylesbury to face the Ladies 3 teams albeit with some notable absences including co-captain Jess who sadly missed our last game due to COVID!

With a set of oversized mens shirts and some borrowed kit from the 8’s we started the game strong, with lots of possession early on, however a quick turnover saw Aylesbury take the lead in the 10th minute. Despite this we continued to put pressure on with lots of positive attacking play and didn’t have to wait too long for this to pay off with Cat scoring in the 27th minute. With everyone’s spirits lifted we were able to score again two minutes later, again coming from Cat! 

After some sweets at half time (thanks Sal!) we started the second half with another goal, again from Cat this time thanks to a great pass in from Char. The rest of the game was fairly evenly matched with both teams really wanting the win, however not without some injuries, with Libby, Cat and Katie suffering the most from some particularly competitive hockey. Sadly we managed to concede another goal in all the drama but Daisy had a great game as GK keeping the damage to a minimum. 

Nominations for player of the match went to Daisy, Zoe, Katie and Char but Cat won with nearly half of the votes thanks to her hat trick.

One final win for the Ladies 7’s bringing the end to an amazing season which sees us securing third in the league and a promotion for next year!
