On this sunny day our penultimate match saw us face off against top-of-the-league Windsor. In the first few minutes we actually looked like a threat! There was some great attacking play. However, it didn’t take long for Windsor to regain control, which despite our best efforts they never relinquished.
The first half saw us concede 5 times. There was during this time some great defensive play. Purdy made excellent saves and the defence made some key tackles that saved us a lot of shorts.
We had the “not so loud one” this time in the “Hubby Spectator Corner”. They felt we battled well, and despite the losing battle remained with our heads held high throughout.
In the second half we conceded another 4 goals – so a slight improvement on the first.
It is never pleasant to lose by such a margin, but we all learnt a lot from the game. Especially that we are capable of playing positively and with determination. Whatever happens we should always play like we’re against top of the league teams. It brings out our best.
