Men's 4s 1 - 7 Abingdon Men's 1s
Hawks men’s 4’s were emphatically beaten 7-1 by league leaders Abingdon.
Without a goalkeeper in the opening five minutes or so, the 4’s were stubborn and difficult to beat. However, the home side could not be kept out and before long would go two goals ahead.
Chris Maidlow gave the 4’s some hope with a penalty flick to make it 2-1 at half time. However, the score line would only worsen during the second half. Unforced errors from Hawks were unhelpful and were punished by Abingdon.
With little else to report, the home side were disappointed at Hawks’ absence from match teas. Following their jubilant celebrations, it may have escaped their attention to inform the away side about arrangements! Nonetheless, congratulations must go to the home side – they have by far and away been the best side in South Central North 3 this season.
