Injuries abound in this challenging Hawks game today.

This was a very unusual game for Hawks 7’s today. With many usual players unavailable it was a different Hawks side that journeyed to Northampton. After only 1 minute Poppy scored an amazing goal but within a few seconds after a collision with a Wootton player had to watch the rest of the game with an injury. Wootton then scored in the 11th minute to equalise. Hawks scored again in the 32nd minute with a goal from Zoe. Hawks went into the half time break ahead 2-1.

Wootton we’re quick off the mark to equalise within the first minute. Luck was not on Hawks side today and after a few minutes of the second half Charlotte had to come off with a hand injury after being hit in the hand during the game. Thank goodness we had a few subs today. The remainder of the match saw Hawks rallying round each other and battling in different positions for Jess to score shortly followed by Romi to score in the closing moments of the match. Final score was 4-2 to Hawks. Well battled Hawks, a tricky game.

Player of the match was our captain Jess.
