On a windy but bright Saturday afternoon Hawks Ladies’ 7s made the short journey to Thame. After a late pushback, Hawks started strong moving the ball down the wings showing some beautiful passes. Both Heui and Kenya had some great play always being available in the wings and posting up to the ball. Despite a few shots on goals from the forwards, none came to fruition. Thame also had some great play, providing a good defence and pushing the ball back up for some shots against us. Our defence held strong and Niv had some excellent saves.

In the second half Thame came out stronger and with the wind against us the ball spent more time in Thames’ D. Liv almost had a goal, but it seemed as if the goal was lifted as we watched it roll off the back line right next to the goal. Soon after, Thame had a chance, but the ball hit the post and there were no more shots on target. The game ended 0-0 with both teams having had a great game.

There were nominations for player of the match for Leo, Eva and Honor.  However, it was won jointly by Kenya and Huei who both had excellent games.

Many thanks to Tim Dabbs for taking the photos.
