L6s struggle against Bicester 2s on a sunny/windy away day!

A short hike up the road from Hawks the ladies 6’s met Bicester 2s. With reduced numbers due to injury and Covid we took to the field slightly more weighted in defense. Though one would then expect then that the result be a clean scoresheet, alas this was not to be. Bicester were a feisty bunch that did rattle some of the hawks ladies. Three ’not really that impressive’ goals did dribble over the line. And whilst we managed to get the ball through to our attackers it just wasn’t going our way. We could mention a card that was awarded late in the game but let’s focus on a positive note, that of Ash Barty winning the Australian Open in 2 sets whilst we were playing, much to the delight of the ‘down under’ players.
