The Men's threes had a good start with lots of possession on the ball and putting Reading under lots of early pressure. We worked their keeper hard with some lovely open play with lots of shots on target. Although it wasn’t until we got our first couple short corners where we could get the first two goals in. We held possession for majority of the first half until we turned the ball over allowing our exposed defence to try and fend off the incoming attack from Reading’s midfield and forward lines. Unfortunately, they had numbers up and managed to claw back a goal making it 2-1. After absorbing the pressure we were able extend the lead towards the end of the first half. We won a short corner in the last 20 seconds of the first half but where unable to capitalise as Tom Arnott fell on his bum as he was passed the ball. Ending the first half at 4-1.

After a good half time team talk we came out ready to claim those all important 3 points.

Again applying high pressure we broke there defence and scored our first goal of the second half. They came back very quickly with another break from a turn over ball to score their second and last goal of the game. We kept our heads high and pushed on to finish the game. Crush any hopes that Reading might have for a come back. Our second to last goal came from a make it up as we go along short corner routine as they had their number one runner sent to the half way line. Our last goal was scored by our Captain Fraser with a lovely deflection from the left post to see the game out. Reading’s last ditched attempt to reduce the goal difference was sabotaged by the final whistle. Ending the game with a 7-2 victory for the Men's 3s.

Goal scorers where Adam Hamid (1), Fraser Daly (3), Simon Robinson (1), Tom Arnott (1), George Guillain (1).

Thanks to Clive Jones for the excellent photos (numbers 1 - 18) and Evelyn Hargraves for her superb ones (numbers 19 - 25) .
