Falcons have been suffering with injuries, covid and availability recently, so Rob McGrigor and Mark Stoker were promoted from the Men's 7's to make their Falcons debuts.

Paul Dunleavy was able to make a rush across from managing the Men's 2's who beat Witney 1's and Ed Baldock was able to oversee the Men's 3's victory in the preceding game and kit up for this return fixture against Haslemere Vets.

The team got back to playing more of the expansive hockey that had defined their early season and it was great to see Wilsdon and defence keep a clean sheet.

Hat-tricks for the skipper and Ed Baldock with individual goals for McGrigor, Dunleavy and David White meant a comfortable but hard worked 9-0 win over a spirited Haslemere side who to their credit never gave up.

Next week Falcons face Epsom away - the only team to have beaten them in three years, so a sterner challenge is expected.

MoM: Andy Kaye with special mentions for Ed B, Skipper and Gary Mahon.
