Hawks started well with some good flowing hockey and after only a few minutes this lead to the opening goal. A great move ended with a quick injection into the D by Dolly which Darby deflected reverse stick past the keeper.
The rest of the match mostly consisted of Hawks giving away possession, failing to beat the very capable Oxford keeper, and generally trying to play too much up the middle. No one acquitted themselves well!
Five minutes of madness after half time resulted in two quick Oxford goals. Final result 1-2.
A frustrating afternoon!
Thanks to the umpires.
Tea was the high point!
