The rain showers cleared and the sun appeared for the first push back. Hawks played really strongly for the first 10 minutes in both defence and attack. Unfortunately, Thame were able to break through the defence and score a goal. Hawks kept their heads up and had occasional breaks up the pitch with some quick decisive passes. However, Thame also stayed strong and were able to win a short corner. The defence and goaly Gabriele tried hard to keep the ball out but after Thame winning another corner straight after they managed to score. With some strong midfield passes and decisions Hawks managed to win a short corner. We went into it strong and fortunately Thame had two players that broke early. This meant there was only three Thame players in the D. Even after a great pass round the goaly to the right post Hawks sadly didn’t score.
At half time the score was 3-0 but we started the second half positively and Hawks had more play with some great attacking passes. Gabriele was still in action and made some great saves especially one in a short corner. Hawks didn’t give up and continued to attack and defend hard but frustratingly Thame managed to get through the defence two more times, scoring which meant the final score was 5-0.
Everyone fought and played well and a very well done to our MOM Yasmin who was amazing in the midfield at both attacking and defence.
