Ladies 1s trip to Bath

23 October 2021, 12:30, University of Bath

Ladies' 1s 2 - 1 Bath Buccaneers Ladies 1s

We travelled across to Bath university and immediately had to pay the privilege of £1 to go over a bridge that looked like a troll lived under it, nothing compared to sunny Wales where trolls actually live (aka Tegan).

We started the game strongly and held the fort with a very attacking Bath side (big shout out to Lydia) and it was 0-0 going into the second half. At half time Andy rallied the troops and told us to settle and start passing the ball (something Lexie needs to learn). Jemima (the beast) managed to win us a short which the legend that is Reany converted making it 1-0 to the mighty Hawks. We went from strength to strength with Tiny showing us her incredible football skills with a Harry Maguire style finish into the goal. However, there was a dark few moments where these uni students showed they could do more than just dance on a Wednesday, they ended up scoring with 5 minutes to play… it was a close 2-1 finish in the end with a sigh of relief from Bex. Hibbers showed her new birthday wisdom and Sally was solid in defence. However, the Man of the match went to Lydia who was incredible in goal you would’ve thought she was replaced by a brick wall!

Funnily enough our Donkey of the Day went to Andy… who told us 11 at the latest but arrived himself in style at a prompt 11:45… apparently their cat ate their homework (like we haven’t heard that one before). The day was topped off with banging teas and a generous round of Diet Coke from Claire (legend) Well done team, over and out, just paid another pound for the bridge RIP my student loan. Your fave brookes players <3
