Ladies' 8s 1 - 2 Wycombe Ladies 7s
On an autumn Saturday afternoon, Hawks Ladies’ 8s had a friendly match against Wycombe.
In the first half, Hawks had lots of possession. We scored the first goal of the match, when Lexie received the ball from Cat and deflected it into the far corner of the goal. However, the score then levelled to one all, when Wycombe scored off a short corner - the result of 5 short corners back-to-back! The score at half time was 1 - 1.
The second half, we had a few shots on goal, which were saved by the keeper, or cleared out the D by the Wycombe defence. Then, Wycombe scored another goal, hit straight through the Goalie’s legs! This made the score 2 - 1.
Unfortunately, Hawks scored no more goals in the second half. Which meant the end result was 2 - 1 to Wycombe. MOM nominations were for Gill, Sallyan, Cat, Leo and Anjali.
However, player of the match was Lexie who had an excellent game. Everyone had a great game, and very well played to all.
The photo at the end is us awarding one of their players our nominated player of the match – a bar of chocolate!
Thanks to Evelyn Hargraves for the excellent photos of the match, and to Jacqui Barlow and Gail Norbury for umpiring.
