More injuries and a another defeat for L6s

Ladies' 6s 1 - 4 Bicester Ladies' 2s
The fog had cleared and it was gloriously sunny as the 6s had the first push back against Bicester 2s. The team consisted of older members of the squad with only one junior on the rosta! Bicester showed they were strong with some good possession but hawks pushed back with a slew of short corners but alas could not convert them. The game continued, a lovely bit of play between the team and a rebound saw Emma score the first goal of the game. Hawks were 1 up on Bicester.
Purdy worked hard in goal throughout the game and unfortunately Bicester got one passed her in the first half bringing the score to 1-1. Hawks were a bit quiet in the first half so the team talk by Captain Phil encouraged us to make some noise, get those passes in and increase the energy levels. Unfortunately we didn’t quite manage this and Bicester slotted another 3 passed Purdy. Hawks had a couple of goal attempts but it just wasn’t our day. A blood injury as well meant we were down to only one sub and in the heat this made it tough. A few learning points to work on but Bicester better watch themselves in the second half of the season.
Thanks to our umpires Odette and Jacs for blowing their whistles, to Lizzie for managing the subs rotation and to Buffy for her excellent home-made cookies.
Thanks also to Evelyn Hargraves for the excellent photos.
