Ladies 2s build on their pre-season form to bring 3 points home!

Ladies' 2s 5 - 1 Bournemouth Ladies 1s
In previous seasons, Hawks ladies 2s have not fared well on their journeys to Bournemouth. It usually rains, it's usually not a great game and it has rarely resulted in 3 points being brought back to BRN...but that all changed to kick off the 2021/22 season!
The ladies were full of confidence having come off the back of an unbeaten pre-season with a squad with a great blend of youth, experience and bags of talent.
It didn't take long for Hawks to get off the mark having created a few chances already. Rosie Spencer stepped up to dispatch a drag flick into the net from a short corner. This was soon followed by another goal from Kathryn, well deserved after great form in pre-season which she carried into this game.
The goals kept coming in the first half and the whole team were delighted to see Emily Watson grab a goal on her league debut for the 2s and was only slightly dampened by Bournemouth sneaking a goal just before half time. 3-1 to Hawks.
Bournemouth came out with some fight in the second half but still only managed to keep Hawks at bay for a little while. The girls were now showing great patience in their passing, switching the ball and enjoying plenty of possession. They were eventually rewarded with a goal from Lili hargreaves and then finishing as they started, with a goal from a short corner from Rosie Spencer.
Plenty of goals, but more importantly for the 2s ladies is the psychological boost of going away to what has been a bit of a bogey team, and winning so convincingly, so early on in the season.
