Ladies' 7s draw with Oxford 7s in their first league game.
25 September 2021, 10:15, Headington School
Ladies' 7s 2 - 2 Oxford Ladies 7s
Hawks 7’s we’re away at Headington Girls school on this fine morning and found themselves up against it from the outset with a number of the regular players not available today. Two players also phoned in unwell on the day of the match so they were down to the bare bones with no subs.
Despite this the team began to gel together as there were many new players to the team. Oxford took an early advantage scoring early in the second half but Hawks had some amazing shots on goal with Juliette scoring in the 21st minute. Towards the end of the first half a controversial penalty was given to Oxford and they were able to score despite Evelyn’s amazing effort in goal. Going into the first half the score was 2:1 against Hawks. Attacks came think and fast in the second half with another amazing strike by Juliette to even the score. There was a constant push by Hawks and there were many shots on goal in the final 5 minutes of the match by Cat and Poppy but unfortunately none of them slipped in past the goalkeeper. A great first match of the season with a draw of 2:2. Bella was voted player of the match on her first game with the 7’s.
