Ladies 3s get off to a flying start in Aylesbury

11 September 2021, 11:30, Aylesbury Vale Academy

Ladies' 3s 6 - 3 Aylesbury Ladies 1s

The Ladies 3s travelled to Aylesbury for their first preseason fixture in the September sunshine.

We started strong, passing well and playing with composure. Despite our confident start, Aylesbury were able to break quickly and test the defence requiring Linda to make a number of superb saves in the first 15 minutes.
We regrouped and dominated possession with Emily opening the scoring just before the whistle went for the end of the first third. (1-0)
Aylesbury came out fighting in the second third and equalised after a sustained attack. (1-1)
Unphased we continued to work hard and quickly scored again from a well worked goal scored by Vikki regaining the lead. (2-1)
Now on a roll, we had a break down the middle with Vikki scoring her second having beaten a defender and being one on one with the Aylesbury GK. (3-1)
The team were now on a high and scored again when a Megan put the ball over the line taking the score to 4-1.

We started the final third confidently passing the ball from defence, through midfield and our forwards were causing Aylesbury defence problems, creating numerous attacking opportunities.
After a passage of sustained pressure Emily found the back of the net for her second goal. (5-1)
We continued pushing forward and Rosie made it 6-1 being on the end of a fantastic reverse stick strike by Chloe.

Aylesbury fought back and against the run of play scored 2 goals in the final third making the final score 6-3. Throughout the match Aylesbury maintained their relentless breaks at pace and never gave up, putting the defence under pressure time after time.

A positive start to the season with a strong team performance.
Congratulations to Emily on being MOM.
