Hawks Ladies' A lose out in a close fought match

03 May 2021, 20:00, Banbury Road North (Near)

Ladies B 4 - 3 Oxford Hawks Ladies A

The day is cold, and dark, and dreary;
It rains and rains, and the wind is never weary;
The Hawks flag still clings to the swaying pole,
And at every gust the hockey girls stand tall,
And the match is still on, really!

The hockey is played through eyes that are bleary;
It rains and rains, and the wind is never weary;
Our thoughts still cling to the weather forecast,
But the hopes are dashed with the rain coming down fast,
And the night is dark and dreary.

The hockey continues at a fast and furious pace;
Goals scored at each end and every ball chased;
The B team score the eventual winner,
Finally, time for home, shower and dinner,
Let's hope the forecast next time is more cheery.

Hawks B were eventual winners in a close matched game against Hawks A for the first summer league game of 2021. Although the weather was shocking, it didn’t put the girls off and there was some high quality hockey played.

Hawks A goals were scored by Ang, Becky and Gemma.

Hawks B goals were scored by Phoebe (2), Katie and Tiny.
