The sun was out for our away game at High Wycombe, however, the wind coming in across the valley helped us keep cool-headed.

The game started strongly with Wycombe having first pushback, straightaway we got the ball up our half of the pitch. Our dominant possession of the ball paid off with a lovely goal scored by Angie.

Twenty-five minutes in Wycombe were penalised with a short corner due to a foot in the D. The error was repeated multiple times resulting in multiple short corners which we took advantage of. The ball was injected to Angie and when the play broke open ended up with Charlotte, Charlotte did a strong hit at goal from outside the D which went in, bringing our score up to 2-0.

Half time arrived and after some useful talk we were back on. Wycombe came back strongly and quickly drew the score to 2-2. They had a lot of possession up their half of the pitch, but our strong defence kept out multiple shots at goal, with Gabby our goalie doing her job well.

Right towards the end of the game we gained possession back and had a strong run up to our end of the pitch, making it into the D. After a fight for the ball, Angie received it and sneaked it around the goalie bringing the score to 3-2.

A short while later after a short corner for the hawks the game ended with Oxford Hawks winning 3-2. Everyone played well against a strong team with nominations for player of the match for Charlotte , Cerys, Angie , Emily and Huei.  Huei won it for her excellent play, fitness and sheer determination to win the ball.
