Ladies' 5s 4 - 4 Oxford Hawks Ladies' 6s
‘Twas the last match before Christmas with only Hawks opposition in sight
The sun was shining with no clouds up in the sky
The whistle was blown and the friendly L5s vs L6s game began
With plenty of pace both sides pushed forward
But defences held fast until quick on a two breaks the 5s scored first
Not to worry the 6s cried out we can wait for our score
And by the half time whistle they had levelled the score.

With hockey sticks posed so lively and quick
The 5s came out with a spring in their step
To find the 6s determined to keep a clean sheet
Connections were made and the ball goal ward bound
Which left the 5s on the back foot to fall a goal behind
The pressure re-applied saw the 5s gain the lead
As the grey clouds gathered and the heavens opened
The 6s short corner routine delivered
And with the scores now level, the game called to a halt
It was off to get dry, to see cakes consumed
And to wish a
