A much awaited game after Boris gave the Green light through a long and dark lockdown. The 5s were raring to go, looking to bounce back after a wet 3-3 draw at home that got away.
Hawks started with intent, linking up with nice passes and pressure. A bombardment oh ariels from the opposition eventually led to a scrappy goal from the opposition, against the run of play. However it didn’t take long for a response with Hawks linking up well down the wings with a fearsome strike from big Bastian getting us right back in the game.
A tightly fought second half, with both teams threatening led to some red mist causing Hawks to go down to ten men, much to the amusement of Gareth Bale upfront for the opposition. Hawks held on valiantly with Matt solid at the back not letting anything through. With darting runs from Jamie Bush and some last ditch tackles the game was at a stalemate. With the clock ticking down Hawks win a short corner with Whitey stepping up and blasting it into the corner we finally led. The last five minutes felt like an hour, holding on for our lives with last ditch tackles and mighty heroics from Jack in goal. The umpire blew his whistle. with a massive three points for the 5s. Get in !!!!
