The Ladies 1s made the relatively short hop down the A40 to face Cheltenham, who were in a similar position in the league. The home side came out the blocks fast and had a good chance from the pushback, but superstar Millie Lane in goal made a good save. They took the lead through a good move down the right after about ten minutes, but Hawks levelled early into the second quarter with a straight strike from Minners. Hawks then took the lead shortly after when Tiny deflected in a cross from Henri and the score stayed 2-1 until the break.
The third quarter was full of goals - Cheltenham’s turn first from a corner, as they worked the ball around the top of the D and then struck firmly into the goal. Hawks struck next, after some cracking work by Gemma Taylor down the right. Gemma laid the ball off to Sandra at the top of the D, whose strike was saved but Katie Lowe, on her return to the side after popping out Poppy, was there to slot home the rebound. However Cheltenham levelled soon after with another well worked goal from a corner. All to play for in the final quarter and there were chances for both sides - Millie made a key save near the end, and Cheltenham also survived a couple of goalmouth scrambles. The final whistle blew to leave the score 3-3 which was probably a fair reflection of the game.
