Ladies 2s bring home 3 points from a trip to Bournemouth

Ladies' 2s 2 - 1 Bournemouth Ladies 1s
This week the Ladies 2s travelled down to wet and windy Bournemouth, hoping to continue their good form and climb up the league table.
We started off well with high levels of possession and great defensive discipline with Caro’s commanding presence and MOM Liv making some crucial saves pushing the girls to create lots of chances and win corners early on. Late in the second half after some great work from Lillie winning a corner, the girls broke through the Bournemouth defence with a well worked conversion from Rosie, making it 1-0 to Hawks. Hawks finished the half strong despite conceding a few corners, but they were brilliantly defended with Laura making a heroic stick save as the whistle blew for half time.
Starting the second half on the front foot the girls looked strong and continued the great work going forward with Kathryn making some great runs down the baseline and putting pressure on the opposing back 4. However tenacious Bournemouth fought back and starting putting on more pressure and winning a couple of corners, however Hawks continued to deny until Bournemouth made it 1-1 despite our best efforts.
Hawks continued to play with great intensity piling on the pressure, and it paid off with Lexie striking an upstoppable reverse stick shot to make it 2-1 to Hawks late in the half! Seeing the game out with some fantastic game management we have come away with 3 points on the road! Overall a great week for the Ladies 2s and plenty to build on for next week.
