The Falcons began the game as the only team to still not have dropped a point in the Wessex Supervets Fixtures Alliance, with the Winchester team having earned a good draw at Woking, last seasons runners-up the week before appearing to have a few younger faces.
The first half was very competitive with both teams creating chances and with the home team once again profligate with their short corners, Wilsdon made a few fine saves to thwart the travellers attacks but the half was edged by the Falcons with an on form Mark White netting twice.
In the second half Falcons were dominant: Mark White completed his hattrick early on and another was added by Pete Bennett making a rare start having a weekend off from college duties. Clarke fresh from coaching the ladies 1’s added a goal of his own and Phil Dunnill enjoying being part of a rampant attack netted twice.
The defence of Blomley, Cairns, Hutton and Heinrich we’re themselves now able to press and the remainder of the half was spent in the away teams half with Clarke, Burrell, Doggett and Warners interplay carving the defence open and enabling further goals from Doggett and Warner.
The only negative was a hamstring injury to David White.
The team are away to joint third place Trojans next week.
