Ladies 3s come second in the derby

26 September 2020, 11:30, Oxford Brookes

Ladies' 3s 0 - 5 Oxford Ladies 2s

The fearless and ambitious team made the trek up Headington Hill to Brookes to take on our bitter rivals from Oxford HC. The weather was sunny and cold, glorious for a spot of hockey. We were pumped and ready to go. Throughout the first half we fought hard and contained lots of pressure on our goal with Linda making some fabulous saves throughout. Oxford managed to sneak one in between the posts and shortly afterwards Kasey took a deflected ball to the lower lip. We held tight to regroup at half time.

The second half saw our forwards pressing hard and having a few moments in the D. Unfortunately Oxford were found to be the stronger team on the day, managing at the full time whistle to be 5 goals up. Much to work on and positives to focus on. MOM was shared by Becca for tireless work in centre mid, Linda who once again saved our bacon on numerous occasions and Kasey who still battled fiercely despite having a cut lip. Bring on Wallingford next week!
