Falcons kicked of the defence of their WSFA league title with a comfortable win over the visitors Haslemere Vets.
The visitors arrived with only 9 players so a huge thanks to David White and Andy Sumser who turned out for the opposition and to Charlie Baggs and Geoff Paver for umpiring.
The remaining 12 players for the Falcons decided they wanted to make a statement start to the new season and a solid first half saw them 3-0 to the good at half time, despite some occasional good passing play and some really good defensive work from Blomley, Kaye, Jones and Heinrich talk was about retaining possession, slicker passing and not forcing things.
Haslemere started the second half strongly with both Sumser and White heavily involved in their early possession, but Falcons were to show the first half lessons had been learnt and excellent play, especially from Hutton and Doggett saw them add a further six goals with the defence and Wilsdon in goal maintaining the clean sheet.
Paul Dunleavy was claiming a hat-trick but appears the goal fest may have been miscounted, so only a brace has been recorded - Sorry Dunners!
Next week will be a sterner test away to Epsom, but it was great to be back on the pitch again!
