A somewhat scrappy game, but full of fight, determination and team work saw us retain our unbeaten run at home since 30th November.

The sun was shining at Hawks as we got ready for what we knew would be a tough game. After a slightly rushed warm-up we were all set and ready to go. Bournemouth applied most of the pressure in the initial stages of the game but strong defence, kept them out. Some excellent interceptions from Vicky M and MOM Laura S led to great connecting play with half backs Harri H and Jess MW and meant Hawks managed to move play up the pitch,  sadly we were unable to convert our chances before half time.

Fuelled by Percy Pigs, the second half felt like a different game with a team goal early on finished by Helen M. The midfield worked tirelessly to both move the ball up the pitch and put in a shift defensively. A second goal was set up beautifully by Harri H and finished by Kathryn P to put us 2-0 up. Unfortunately Bournemouth then scored from a short corner awarded after a counter attack. We remained confident though and kept our heads up, and some great passing work from the mids and forwards led to an easy third goal converted by Jo P in the last few minutes of the game making it 3-1. Our defence held off a short corner in the last 30 seconds to secure the 3-1 win and move us up the league table.

A strong performance from everyone involved and of course spurred on by some wise words as ever from Wilko.

MOM: Laura S
DOD: Harri H
