U14 Girls' A team in tough match with Oxford

12 January 2020, 13:30, Banbury Road North (Top)

U14 Girls A 1 - 3 Oxford U14 Girls

At 1.30pm on Sunday 12th of January Oxford Hawks had one of our toughest matches. We started out hard and strongly but unfortunately the other team scored. Luckily, we turned it round, got a short corner and Emily, one of our key players, scored a great goal. Both teams battled it out hard for the next 15 minutes, neither team scoring. Our defensive line was strong and some of our attackers were moving quickly to get the ball. We all played with aggression; you could see we wanted this but so did the other team. Near the end of the first quarter Oxford scored again, leaving it 2-1 to Oxford at half time.

After half time we were pumped and ready to go, we were not giving up yet! For most of the second half both teams fought hard and neither team scored. Our goalie, Trinity, was absolutely amazing and we wouldn’t have been able to play as well as we did without her. Unfortunately for us, the other team scored just near the final whistle but we still didn’t give up. At the end of the match the score was 3-1 to Oxford but we were all so proud of how we played. We didn’t give up, we stayed focused, we played with aggression and used all our energy.

Our player of the match was Charlotte, she played really well and definitely deserved it.
