No January blues for the L4s as they secure another 3pts

11 January 2020, 11:00, Banbury Road North (Near)

Ladies' 4s 3 - 2 Reading Reading Rockets

Despite the very strong winds and cold weather, Hawks Ladies 4s came out onto the pitch with a winning mindset of beating Reading Rockets. However, things didn't go our way in the first half with Reading being 2 goals up at half time. After a very positive half-time team chat, we were determined to take the game back, coming out much stronger. With much delight we were able to score a goal within the first few minutes after an extremely well made decision by Annabel who made a lovely pass to Mimi who put it to Pollyanna who was able to score. It didn’t stop there, after the involvement of many battling sticks near the goal Pollyanna was able to flick the ball in over the keeper and get her second goal. Now we were determined to win and with a quick run from Katie we were able to score our third goal which is put us 3-2 up. With not long left to go, the game got very tense, especially as Reading got two short corners in the last 2 minutes, but with a very strong defence, some brilliant tackles by Becky and an amazing save by Evelyn, we were able to hold our own and come out with a 3-2 win.  Well done to Pollyanna who got player of the match
