Kestrels in close game with Oxford

23 November 2019, 17:00, Banbury Road North (Top)

Kestrels 2 - 3 Oxford Tigers

On a dark and wet evening at Oxford Hawks, the Kestrels played Oxford in a close match. A player of the match performance by Carys was shown throughout in some sturdy defending along with Anna pulling out some cracking saves to keep Oxford’s scoring low. Bea created a great chance in the opposition D by hitting the post. Unfortunately, the visitors managed to get two goals (I think?!) in the first half. Hawks started with some high quality marking but Oxford attackers were on form and scored another clinical goal to make it 3-0. Hawks came back strongly with some great defending by Lucille and Aimee, which linked nicely with Flora, Honor, Yumna and Bea. Emily positioned herself on the post and scored a great comeback goal. After a few more minutes, Emily managed to put another cracking shot past the Oxford goalkeeper to make it 3-2. It wasn’t great conditions but the stage is set for some great performances to come.
