L6s lose out 1-5 under grey skies away to Aylesbury 2s

23 November 2019, 13:00, Aylesbury Vale Academy

Ladies' 6s 1 - 5 Aylesbury Ladies 2s

This weekend we played the ladies 2nds from Aylesbury. The game kicked off at a fast pace, with the opposition having some strong runs down the wing, but our defence kept them at bay, succeeding to stop multiple shots at goal with some great clearances from Phil and Jan. Unfortunately, after many unlucky short corners, Aylesbury managed to slip the first goal in.

But we didn’t let our heads go down, and had a few opportunities to level the score with some great hits into the D by Lotty.

Second half started off well with a cracking goal by Lotty from a strong short corner - equalizing the score to one goal each. Unfortunately, despite Buffy bouncing off the pitch and some brilliant saves from Purdy, Aylesbury managed to score a further four goals, the end score being 5-1. The score doesn’t represent at all how the ladies 6s played the game, with more attacks coming nearer the end – including some great runs by Charlotte and Juliette just missing out on another goal. We all kept our heads and spirits high throughout the game, so well done girls. A special mention to our well-deserved player of the match, Purdy, really well played and I hope your neck is feeling better.
