Strengthened by the availability of Pickup and Lamb , Hawks 5's continued their winning streak against a strong Buckingham 1st team.
Hawks started in composed manner with Poulter and Brook giving an excellent impression of Moore and Charlton. The returning Nick Lamb exuded class at half back and with Ed Watson proving an excellent threat on the left side, Hawks began to take control.
Hawks took the lead after Dawson's instinctive touch was saved by the Buckingham keeper only for Simon White to whistle the follow up high into the net. A second closely followed with Martin Pickup neatly striking a reverse stick shot into the empty net.
A formation change by Buckingham just before half time lead to two quickfire goals by the visitors and a 2-2 scoreline at the break. Not for the first time had Hawks thrown away a two goal advantage this season.
However, the team have developed a resilient streak and started to dominant as the second period got underway. A number of half chances came and went before Ash Sutcliffe fired in from a short corner routine. Ash's roar of delight could be heard in Marston and as time ticked away Hawks played some excellent keep ball to maintain their slender lead.
A 3-2 win secured and a position at the top of the table as a reward for 6 wins in a row.
