Ladies' 7s in ferocious fight with Aylesbury 3s
16 November 2019, 14:00, Banbury Road North (Top)
Ladies' 7s 1 - 7 Aylesbury Ladies 3s
With five minutes to go before starting we realised we were without our goalie, but Iona thankfully gave up her position on pitch - it was a good job she did, as we were going to be faced with a volley of ferocious strikes from our opponent's forwards. Aylesbury were strong from the start, firing in a couple of goals in the first ten minutes and despite some great play going forwards and a fantastic goal by Anna we were 4-1 down at half time.
In the second half we gelled more as a team and there was some great play across the pitch, but the speed and power of the Aylesbury forwards meant we had to play more defensively. Ness had a really solid game in defence, but Lucy deservedly won man of the match. The final score was 7-1. Sandra Sattley, who used to play fro Hawks was their CF amd got 5 out ofthe 7 goals.
Thanks to our umpires and to our supporters who braved the cold.
